Chester is such a fascinating city with the ancient walls and historic two floor arcades of shops. I liked the Roman ruins too and the boat trips look excellent. Do hope to visit again but maybe others will want to stay on site and make use of Warner's facilities?
There is a Valerie's patisserie in Chester - very French and amazing cakes - elegant setting for our hats.
Brown's store has an amazing beauty department with chandeliers and gold ceiling and the upstairs is just like "Are you being served"! …………
They have a good Park and Ride facility -parking is difficult in the city - which we found after we struggled in.
I discovered a wonderful hat shop there -just as it was closing though. It looked very expensive- but there were loads of other places with red hats and some very good charity shops near the central car park.
It will be lovely to see you all again whatever we do .…….
It would be a shame to miss it.
(Thank you Maur!)

I have just had confirmation from Warners that our weekend at Alvaston Hall is going to be a "50s Sounds" weekend featuring The Firebirds. Here is some information about them:
http://www.firebirds.co.uk/home.htm
Also featured are The Flames - a 50s Rock n Roll band. http://www.theflames.co.uk/
Apparently they wear identical suits and play pink Fender guitairs!
There are still rooms available from our allocation but please note that single occupancy now incurs a surcharge of £60 for the weekend as we have used up our allocation of single rooms.
Hatter greetings, Wanda, Queen Opal
